Harold served in the Army during the Korean War. After his tour, he returned to the farm he grew up on as a child for another 40 years. As a very generous man, Harold would always open his heart and his home to anyone in need. He also loved animals and they in turn truly loved him back. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Quick with a smile, a joke and a handshake Harold was loved by all.
As a man of many talents, he could play the guitar and loved to sing. You would even hear him yodeling from time to time. He loved to draw funny characters that would make people smile. He could also take a pile of scrap lumber and build whatever he or anyone else needed.
Harold was a long-time member of the Honeoye-Hemlock Sportsman's Club. He was also a life member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion.
