Services for Nettie May Phillips Spray, 100, of Lawrence, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rumsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Spray died today, Feb. 4, 1993, at Sterling Heights Nursing Home.

She was born on July 1, 1892, in Tonganoxie to Charles W. and Rosanah McMurtry Phillips. She lived in or near Lawrence all her life.

Mrs. Spray was a graduate of Lawrence public schools and taught school at both Woodlawn and Pinckney schools and in Westmoreland.

She married Charles Spray on March 9, 1918, in Lawrence. She and her husband farmed in Midland until moving to Lawrence in 1958. He died in in 1973.

Mrs. Spray was a member of the South Side Reading Club, the Rural Social Club and the Lawrence Friends Church, where she was a longtime choir member. She also was active in Sunday school and other church organizations.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Oliver Phillips, Lawrence.

A daughter, Mary Lou Shepard, died in 1943.
