Here is the obituary for Embric [Engebret] Garness, as published in the Preston Times, on March 17, 1915. Embric Garnes, who has been making his home with a daughter north of town, died Wednesday of last week. The funeral services were held at the Garnes church on Friday, Rev. Frost of Riceford officiating. The remains were brought here (Note: They are referring to Preston, MN as the site of the train station he was shipped from.) and shipped to Crosby, ND to buried by the side of his wife who died several years ago. Note: On a recent trip to North Dakota, in 2004, we visited the cemetery, where they were buried, and the site is very rural, and sits in the middle of a large field outside Noonan, ND. Only his wife's information was on the stone, leaving Embric to lie in an unmarked grave.

Note: The information above comes from the couple that went to North Dakota to visit the graves: Barry Dahl and his wife Susan (Garness) Dahl. https://www.findagrave.com/user/profile/47446687
