"Mrs. Lavada Ross, 61, Jacksonville, Ill., formerly of Kansas City, died Monday at a hospital in Jacksonville. She was born in Morgan County, Ill., and had lived here 10 years before moving to Jacksonville six weeks ago. Mrs. Ross was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church here. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Anna May Gardner of Plattsburg; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Pansy Chester of Kansas City, Mrs. Maxine Candtrell of Neosho, Mo., and Mrs. Ruth Sielert of Grand Blanc, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Cordelia Birdsell of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Newcomer White Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society."
