C. Edgar White
Services will be held Tuesday for C. Edgar White, 65, of 209 Jefferson St., Newell, who died Sunday at 8:10 a.m. in Weirton General Hospital after a long illness. A World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater, Mr. White was born March 3, 1913, in Middlebourne, W.Va., a son of Sheridan W. White and Martha Stoneking White. He was retired April 6, 1973 as a foreman in the packing department of Homer Laughlin China Co. He was a member of the American Legion and Odd Fellows of Newell and attended the First Church of Christ. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Mildred O. Allison White, whom he married Dec. 30, 1933, survivors include a son, David A. White of Madison, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Eartha Enochs of Newell and Mrs. Wanda Dickey of Wellsville, and three grand-children. The rites will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester by Terry Wells, pastor. Burial will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown. Friends may call at the chapel this afternoon and tonight.
