Judy Carol Irving Melton passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2022, after a long, rewarding, and satisfying life. Judy was 74 years old.
Born on August 25, 1947, Judy was the daughter of Davis and Myrtle Irving of Weir, Mississippi.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, and a grandson, one sister.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Davis Irving and brother, Jimmy Irving.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Most of all she cherished being " Ju Ju" to her grandson. She was a faithful member of the Ackerman Baptist Church, loved working in her yard and reading. Judy had a great sense of humor and always put others first.
Judy was an honor graduate of Weir High School. She attended Holmes Community College and Delta State University. Judy was a retired state employee, working with the Mississippi Division of Plant Industry and the Longest Student Heath Center at MSU. She also worked for years in the Weir School District.
Services for Judy will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11 am at Ackerman Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Irvin officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 am - 11 am prior to the funeral service. She will be laid to rest alongside her cherished mother- in- law, Ann Melton in the Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, Ms.
Memorials may be made to the Ackerman Baptist Church HVAC Fund.
