Julius was the fourth of five sons born to Levi and Levina (Troutman) Moose. He married (1) Laura C. Fink on 11/17/1872 and they were the parents of three children: James Adolphus, Mollie E. and Alexander. Laura C Fink was the first of ten children born to Reuben Fink and Polly/Mary Beaver. In the 1870 census Julius is living in the Reuben Fink household. No gravesite has been found for Laura. He married (2) Louisa Harris and (3) Alice J. Fesperson.

Mr. J. M. Moose, prominent farmer of this county died at his home in No. 6 township early Monday morning. He is survived by two bothers and three children. Mrs. Moose died about a year ago. Funeral services were held this morning at 11 o'clock at Mt. Olive Church, No. 6 township conducted by the pastor of the Church.
