Born June 20, 1921 in Spokane, WA, She was known to her family as "Grandma Judy." She married Jim Asay and they lived in Powell, WY, Jim worked in the oil fields. Judy and Jim Asay's only child was born in Powell, WY July 26,1943, they named him Jerry Asay. The Asay's settled in Choteau, MT, where Jerry graduated from High School. Jim Asay died in December, 1971.
Later in the years, she met and married Colonel Bynum. They resided in Choteau until years crept up on them and their kids, Jerry and Margene Asay moved them to Polson to be closer. Colonel died in February of 1997. Jerry and Margene moved mom to St. Ignatius to be closer. She lived in her apartment until 2008. Margene moved Grandma Judy in with her to assist her in her daily activities. Judy broke her hip in March 2009, and then became a permanent resident of St. Lukes Extended Care in Ronan, MT.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Asay, and husband Colonel Bynum, and her only child Jerry Asay who died May 2004.
Judy is survived by are her two Grandsons, Terry Asay, Louisville, KY and Steven Asay, St. Ignatius, MT, and her daughter in law Margene Asay, St. Ignatius.
A small service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 12pm at Foster Funeral Home. Following the service on Friday she will be cremated as per her request. A private burial of her ashes next to her son, Jerry Asay will follow at the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
