He was the youngest of five children born to Lealon and Nellie Wilde. He graduated from Flat Rock High School and attended Michigan State University. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and was stationed in Lake Charles, LA, Mt. Clemens, MI, Biloxi, MS, Tonapah, NV, and Savannah, GA. His later years of military service were served in Charleston, SC, in the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Cross Pointe Church, Duluth, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Harold, Ruth, and Cline. Surviving are wife of 61 years, Patricia Stepp Wilde; children, Chris (Amy), Michael (Kim), Vonda Freeman; four grandchildren, Ashley (Robert), Carson, Riley, and Parker; and sister, Jauhnell Durham.
