Services for Helma Juanita Loper, 81, of Huntington, of Huntington, formerly of Texas City, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.

Mrs. Loper was born October 22, 1922, in Zavalla, Texas, and she passed away Thursday, September 16, 2004, at her residence.

Mrs. Loper was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had also worked for Walgreen's as a bookkeeper. She loved arts, crafts and people. Mrs. Loper was a member of Huntington First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Jeri Loper of Huntington; son, Timothy J. Loper of Texas City; son-in-law, Bobby Hooter of Santa Fe; sister, Mamie Cryer of Zavalla; brother, Clinton Hawkins of Huntington; grandsons, Jeff Hooter of Seabrook, Tony Hooter of LaMarque and Dustin Loper of Tallahassee, Florida; granddaughter, Karissa Loper of Huntington; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home.
