Evelyn Marie Goff Griggs, a resident of Central, died at 8:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at her home. She was 87, born in Hickman, Ky., on July 28, 1921.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home in Baker on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. until chapel service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Glenn Taylor. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth and Ivy Duplessis and Patsy Griggs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sue Griggs and George H. and Maudine Griggs; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Griggs; parents, Jim Bob and Margaret Goff; two brothers, a sister and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy, George H., Michael, Joseph and Lee Griggs, and Shane Tarver.
