She received her degree as a registered nurse in 1943. She served as an Army nurse during World War II and was stationed at Schick General Hospital in Clinton, Iowa until her honorable discharge as a Second Lieutenant in March of 1946.
Funeral services were in Coronado at Humphrey Mortuary. The Reverend Doctor Laurie Lofsvold was the officiate. Services will concluded at Willamette Memorial Park with the United States Army and American Legion Posts 10 and 51 rendering military honors.
