Daughter of Elias Duboise and Mary Rebecca BARBEE (daughter of Brig. General Elias Barbee Sr [fag #93828891] and Elizabeth Slaughter,[ fag # 141286418]. ) These lineages are verified by high DNA Markers to Lanita Sconce Smith.

Rebecca's grandfather was a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives from 1809 to 1812, 1825 to 1827, and Member of the Kentucky State Senate from 1821 to 1823. He also was founder of the Kentucky School for the Deaf, and his daughter Lucy [sister to Rebecca's mother), who was one of the first 3 students.
