Jerrald Earl James
Jerrald E. James, age 84, of Dixon, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at OSF St Anthony Medical Center, in Rockford.
He was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Dixon, the son of Earl and Edna (Weyant) James.
He had worked for Nicor for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Dixon Noon Lions Club and was Lion of the Year 1982-1983, he was also a member of the Briar Knoll Hunting Club where he was president in 1967-1968, and was Dixon Citizen of the Year in 1983.
He married Margaret "Marge" Everett Sept. 25, 1954 in Dixon.
He is survived by his wife; four children; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Sue Lordi.
Visitation will be on Monday May 4, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Cremation rites will follow.
A memorial has been established to the OSF Cancer Treatment Center in Rockford.
