THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE... Funeral for Johnny Calvin Livingston, 71, of Decatur will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Ridout?s Brown-Service Funeral Home with Sandra Locke Godbey and Brad Eades officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Livingston, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at his residence, was born Jan.1, 1936, in Morgan County to Robert Livingston and Rosa Mae Smith Livingston. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves and U.S. Navy. He was a television director for WMSL-TV in Decatur and Birmingham and also a radio announcer for WMSL Radio in Decatur. He was program director for the U.S. Army and worked for Civil Service Classified Television for the U.S. Army. He was a member of Oak Park Church of God. Mr. Livingston was preceded in death by four brothers, Euel, Eugene, Charles and James ?Buddy? Livingston; and one sister, Mary Frances Kelly.
Survivors include his wife, Douglas Ann Thrasher Livingston; one son, Don Calvin Livingston, and his wife, Stacey, of Decatur; one daughter, Euelanne Livingston Peebles, and her husband, Billy, of Priceville; five grandchildren, Jacob Livingston and his wife, Tina, Kim Livingston, Jeremy West, Jordan West and Landon Carter; and three great-grandchildren, Amaya-Lee Butler, Lexi Cantrell and Joshua Livingston.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Livingston, Wiley Blankenship, Joe Morris and William Chandler.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or to the Decatur General Foundation.
