Richard Loveland Loveland was a barrister, King's Counsel and author of legal text books. His name was changed from Oldershaw to Loveland by Royal License March 28, 1861.

Called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1865, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Middlesex Sessions in 1889 and Deputy Chairman of the County of London Sessions in 1896. He retired in 1911.

He sat on Middlesex County Council as an alderman from 1890-97.
