Donald Reed Pugmire (known as Reed) was the first born of the four sons born to Donal Lawrence Pugmire and Thama [Larsen] Pugmire. He was born on 2 May 1936 in Montpelier, Idaho. He was then joined by brothers Rex, Terry, and Steve Pugmire. He also had a half-sister Donna, whom he cherished dearly.

Reed spent 4 years in the Navy learning the trade of dental technician, which was his career after his time with the Navy ended.

Reed was an avid fan of learning. He loved sharing new interesting things he learned about our planets, galaxy and the universe with his children. He also had a great sense of humor, and his laugh radiated from the tips of his toes, through his soul and lightened everyone around him.

Later in life, Reed enjoyed being pen pals with friends and family near and far. He had such great empathy and compassion and truly enjoyed reaching out via phone or by letter to close family and friends.

Reed died peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

Reed is survived by his children, daughter Dawn Knapp (Tom), and son Devin Pugmire (Jamie), stepdaughter, Jackie, his grandchildren Kayleigh (Dawn), Janae (Devin) and Braeden (Devin), and great grandchildren Lana and Ember.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Reed on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 North Latah Street, Boise, ID, 83706.
