David Hearst Kingsland was born in De Soto on May 13,1933 a son to Harold Hearst and Sarah Mabel (nee Akins) Kingsland. He died surrounded by his family at his De Soto home on January 5, 2022 at the age of 88. David is survived by his wife of 62 years Bernice G. (nee Wigger) Kingsland; their children: Pamela (Kevin) Lashley, Arnold, Sherry (Don) Golterman, Hillsboro, Suzanne (Mike) Shanks, De Soto, Michael (Kim) Kingsland, Blackwell and Alan (Julie) Kingsland, De Soto; twelve grandchildren: Cody Lashley, Camille Lashley, Jacqueline Golterman, Colby (Rachel) Shanks, Erika Shanks, Garrett Shanks, Brittany (Andrew M.) Aubuchon, Kelsey Kingsland, Austin Kingsland, Brycen Kingsland, Allison Kingsland and Alexis Kingsland; four great grandchildren: Maddison Shanks, Paisley Aubuchon, Elsie Aubuchon, and Andrew D. Aubuchon and one sister Lillie Huskey, De Soto. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister Nancy Apple and her husband Shelby; one brother Frank Kingsland and a brother in law Donald Huskey. David served in the United States Army. He earned a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He served as a Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent in the Sunrise R-IX School District and retired as a Principal for the Hillsboro R-III School District. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the First Baptist Church-De Soto.
