Roy "Butch" Gerald Stout, age 73 of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home in Mauriceville, Texas. Services to honor Roy will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Trout Creek Cemetery in Newton County. Military Honors will be provided by the SETX Veterans Service Group. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Roy was born in Dallas, Texas on December 9, 1948 to parents, Hazel Estelle and Willis Washington Stout.

He graduated from South Park High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army as an E4 during the Vietnam War. Roy cherished his retirement from welding and truck driving. Roy had a kind gentle spirit and was always ready for a good time with his family and friends. He loved to laugh and hear the laughter of others. Roy's sense of humor, his love of his children, motorcycles, and being a "grease monkey" was unmatched. Whether you were a family member or a friend a trip to Roy's house meant you always got your tires and oil checked, kind of like a full service station. Roy and Carol became bonus parents to many children, always taking the time to truly listen and give them invaluable life advice.

Roy met his soul mate Carol the first day she attended South Park. When she was walking into the school he put his foot in the door and said "I can't let you go in." They never left each other's side for the next 57 years. Roy will be deeply missed by all that knew him and his wonderful infectious laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Estelle and Willis Washington Stout, a sister Hazel Floraine Jones and his future daughter-in-law that was engaged to Kenneth, Nikki Vickers Fletcher

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and soul mate, Carolyn Stout, son, Kenneth Stout, daughters, Debbie Stout Permenter and husband Tommy, Monica Stout and fiancé Calla Wells, brothers, Donald Jones, Rodney Jones, sister Melanie Jones Davidson, eight grandchildren; Mason Tucker, Kelsey Tucker, Britney Wyatt, Brooke Tant, Caitlyn Permenter, Shelbea Permenter, RaeLyn Stout and Kimberly Stout, two great-grandchildren, Lars Tucker and Emilia Moreno and host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers to honor Roy will be Kenneth Stout, Tommy Permenter, Randy Burns, Jason Murphy, Mason Tucker and Kevin McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be D'Andra "Dee" Barrow, MiChele Simmons, James Heath Brown, Heather Renee'Avery and Calla Wells.

In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to the Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group, PO Box12352 Beaumont, TX 77726.
