Raymond "Ray" "Jr." F. Thorp, 80, of Calverton Park, MO, passed away at his home on December 24, 2021.He was born on January 11, 1941 in Overland, MO to Raymond and Cynthia (Yoe) Thorp. Raymond attended the local schools with his siblings and graduated from Normandy High School. He and Shirley (Leach) were united in marriage on December 17th 1967. Ray had five children: Matt, Michael, Raymond, Charlene and Diane. Ray was an excellent CDL Instructor at MTC and took great pride in his work. He truly felt accomplished when he could get truck drivers safely on the road, able to support their families. Some of his leisure activities were fishing and hunting. Ray was a Boy Scout Leader for many years with his sons and they really bonded with time spent together. He had lots of sayings that he would always use over the years including: "It's an adventure Uncle Wigley!" Ray enjoyed time spent with family, and the loss of his grandson, Hunter, has been difficult for the whole family. He attended school activities and sporting events as much as he could and was a great supporter!

Ray is survived by his children; Matthew Thorp of St. Charles, Michael (Sara) Thorp of Troy, Raymond Thorp of Delaware and Charlene (Jim) Pingitore of Delaware; grandchildren, Matthew Pingitore, Greg Pingitore and his children Dakota and Maverick, Brianna (Sean) O'Donnell, Cheyenne (Austin) Goodman and their child, Baylor, Aiden Thorp, Siarra Thorp and Ty Thorp; sister, Judith Cassidy of Lee's Summit, MO and his sweet little dog, Uggy.

Raymond is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thorp, his daughter, Diane McCaffrey, grandson, Hunter Thorp and brother, Dennis Thorp.

Memorial Visitation - will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379

Memorial Service - will also be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2 p.m. McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO Rev. Mark Spence to officiate .
