NEWPORT NEWS - Alice Foster Pool, 89, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Mullins, SC on Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was known by most as MeMa. She was born April 11, 1925, in Lynchburg, VA to Courtney and Erna Foster. She was a homemaker, a member of West Hampton Baptist Church and owner of Pool's Window and Door Service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Pool; her son, Charles W. Pool, Jr.; one brother and four sisters. She is survived by one brother and four sisters; her children, Wiley Pool (Brenda), Faye Collins (Mike), Gloria Singhaseni (Oot) and David Pool (Melinda); eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The Celebration of Life will be on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at West Hampton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
