She graduated from Asbury College in Kentucky and was employed as a teacher in Chester County. She served the majority of her life in ministry with her husband, Rev. Clarence Quay in the following Churches of the Brethren; Burnham, PA; Collinsville, VA; Lynchburg, VA; and Marion, OH. For the last 15 years she has been a member of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.
On July 1, 1950 she was united in marriage to Clarence Elwood Quay, Jr., of Bridgewater, VA., Clarence survives along with their son, Jeff and his wife Lynn, and two grandchildren, Eli and Laura Quay of Bridgewater. She is also survived by a brother, John Clingaman and his wife Alice in Geigertown, PA, and sister-in-law Bette Simon of Pottstown, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy MacMullen and her husband Rev. Joseph MacMullen and a brother-in-law, John Simon.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 P.M., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Parkerford Church of the Brethren, in Parkerford. A memorial service will be conducted 2 P.M., Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Bridgewater Church of the Brethren with Rev. Jeffery Carr officiating, reception following.
