Hettie Elizabeth Smith Ezzell, 90, of 3671 Maple Ave., died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Hospice Home.

A native of Orange County, she retired from Koury Hosiery and was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Leerie Arnold Ezzell of the home; daughter, Sandra Ezzell Kerns and husband Charles "Wink" Kerns of Burlington; half-brother, Richard Smith of Reidsville; grandchildren, Todd Kerns and wife Sam of Burlington, Chris Kerns of Graham, Randy Kerns and wife Happy of Burlington, and Kelli Kerns Jones and husband Todd of Browns Summit; and great-grandchildren, Molly Kerns, Emily Kerns, Conner Kerns, Craven Kerns, Chance Kerns, Lowden Kerns, Hannah Kerns, Caroline Kerns, Berkley Jones, Andy Jones and McGwire Jones.

She was preceded in death by H.D. Smith Sr. and Lillie Murray Smith; brothers, Willie Smith and H.D. Smith Jr.; sisters, Myrtle Taylor, Bertha Crawford, Louise Maschal and Josephine Cox; and great-grandson, Yeattes Jones.

The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Rev. Don Pegg officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham Tuesday from 2 to 4 and other times at the residence of Sandra Kerns, 2208 Delaney Drive, Burlington.
