Born in Matthews, Missouri to Mother Hattie Allen and Father Grayer Mallory Sr., Allen migrated across the US as a member of the US Air Force while earning a Good Conduct Medal. As a veteran, he found work in local steel mills and Komatsu before joining and retiring from the Waukegan Public School District as a Custodian. During his time at Offutt Air Force Base, he met the woman that would later become his loving spouse, Carolyn J. Marzette. Married in Nebraska in 1962, they moved to Illinois shortly thereafter to start their family.
Allen was the beloved father of Genoris (Brian) Green of Killeen, TX, Adrienne Mallory of North Chicago, IL, and Allen Mallory Jr of Tracy, California. He was the proud grandfather of Shatoya Green of Round Lake Beach, IL, Brian K. Green II of Waukegan, IL, Ryan (Porchae) Green of Killeen, TX, Erin Green of Killeen, TX, and Andre Mallory of North Chicago, IL. He was the great grandfather to 16 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Hattie and Grayer Mallory, brothers Grayer Jr., George, Lionel, and sisters Ida Mae, Alma Lee, Lula B., Arabel and one great grandchild Zylah Green. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Carolyn, and 3 children as well as his siblings Marie, Elbert, Richard, Charlie, Johnny, and James Mallory.
He lived a full and exciting life as a wonderful husband, friend, devoted father and grandfather and a dedicated employee. He loved cars, working as a mechanic and his work as an elder in the Church of Christ. Allen accepted Christ very early in life. A southern farm boy at heart, he loved traveling across the country. Most of all, he loved his family and always instilled good values in the lives of the individuals whom he touched. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts and memory.
A Celebration of His Life Service will be held at 9:30 A.M., Friday, January 14, 2022 at the North Shore Church of Christ, 326 Julian Street, Waukegan, IL. Brother Terry Atwater, Officiating. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M.
