In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. (White) Boova; his brothers and wives, Joseph A. Boova and Ellen, Augustus A. Boova and Christina.
He is survived by his children: Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Morris and husband Bruce, of Scarsdale, NY, and Samuel Anthony "Tony" Boova and wife Jill, of Wilmington, DE; great granddaughter Wesleigh Brynn Harrison, grandchildren, Lindsey Harrison and husband Zachary, Hillary Boova Forbrich and husband David and Rebecca Boova Turner and husband Andrew.
After college, Sam worked with his Father Samuel and brother Joseph at S Boova and Company, commercial food brokers in Lewistown PA. Later in life, Samuel was employed at Standard Steel as Vice President, then at Kentucky Electric Steel as Vice President. Samuel retired from The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as Comptroller after 15 years of service. He was a graduate of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe PA where he attended the college preparatory school grades 7-12.
Sam was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey while residing in Hershey, PA. He was a 3rd degree Knight with the Knight of Columbus Council Number 1338 in Lewistown, PA where he maintained membership.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday January 3, 2022 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N Dorcas Street, Lewistown PA 17044 with Father William Weary to officiate. There will be a visitation held at the church from 11:45 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be private in Juniata Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC.
