Francis T. Schrunk, 70, of 600 E. Lincoln, Independence, Mo., died Saturday at the Independence Sanitarium. He was born near Atkinson, Neb., and had lived in Independence since 1973. He retired in 1969 after 39 years as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter No. 1164, in Independence, and was past president of the Lincoln, Neb. chapter. He was an elder in the Reorganized Latter Day Saint church, Slover Park congregation.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Virginia R. Schrunk; two sons, Don C. Schrunk, Lincoln, and Tom F. Schrunk, Omaha; two brothers, John F. Schrunk, Arvada, Colo., and Ralph Schrunk, Atkinson, Neb.; eight sisters, Mrs. Ina Roth, Atkinson; Mrs. Mabel Banks, Inman, Neb.; Mrs. Pearl Moore, Elgin, Neb.; Mrs. Ida Boles, Chadwick, Mo.; Mrs. Lois Ries, Carthage, Mo.; Mrs. Ruth Andrus, Valentine, Neb.; Mrs. Ethel Rezzatorsky, Atkinson, and Mrs. Lusetta Alton, Portland, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Speaks Memorial Chapel. A service also will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lincoln. R.L.D.S. church; burial in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
