1922-2007


Robert S. "Bob" Smith, age 85, resident of Pensacola, FL, passed away on the morning of December 20, 2007.
Born May 16, 1922 in Montrose, MS, Bob was the youngest son of a family of eleven. He graduated from high school in Montrose and attended Jones County Junior College and Laurel Business College. He served in the Medical Corps during World War II with duties in England, France and Germany. He moved to Pensacola in 1950 and married Bernice Lambert in 1951. He managed Avis rental car and several downtown parking facilities before becoming a salesman at Muldon Motor Company in 1956. He retired in 1984. He attended Heights Baptist Church. He was a member and past president of the East Pensacola Heights Lions Club and was a past member and treasurer of the A.K. Suter School PTA.
He was preceded in death by his father, R. A. "Bob" Smith; his mother, Mary Alice Smith; and nine brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Fran Smith; his sister, Ethel P. Gwaltney of Meridian; MS, and 10 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
Graveside Service will be held 10:00am Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Bayview Memorial Park with the Rev. Brian Nott officiating.
