"Wayland - The body of Nicholas Schu was found hanging in the woodshed at his home in this place this morning. He had been absent from the house but a short time. Schu was a painter and has had rather hard luck and as no prospects of better times appeared it is thought he became despondent and sought relief in death. First he took a quantity of Paris green and then fastened a rope to a joist in the woodshed made a slip noose and hung himself. His wife had been away during the night and came home about 8 o'clock in the morning and found the body. Coroner Sutton of Bath, made an investigation but deemed an inquest unnecessary.
