Anne R. Ahearn
Northampton, Feb. 28 – Funeral of Anne R. Ahearn who died this morning at the home of her aunt, Miss Mary A. Ahearn of 134 Crescent St., will be held at her residence Friday at 9.15 with a high mass of requiem in St. Mary's Church at 10. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Born in this city, daughter of the late James J. and Johanna (Scannell) Ahearn, she had resided here all her life. She graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1928 and from the Mercy Hospital School of nursing in Springfield in 1932.
A registered nurse, she practiced nursing at Cooley Dickinson Hospital for 10 years prior to joining the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps in 1942, returning to civilian life in 1945.
She leaves a sister, Alicia, at home, two brothers, Francis T., city editor of The Hartford Times, and Frederick M. of Northpoint, Long Island, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at her home after 3 Wednesday up to the time of the funeral. The Ahearn funeral service is in charge of arrangements.
