Northampton – Arley J. Adams, 47, of 31 Powell St., Florence, husband of the former Helen Johnson, died Monday in Cooley Dickinson Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Atlanta, Ga., Dec. 9, 1919, son of the late Arley R. Adams and the former Mary Garrnett and had lived in Northampton 14 years. He was employed at Kollmorgan Optical Corp, and was a World War II veteran, having served in the 92d Air Service Group, USAF. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Nancy, Susan and Linda, all at home; five sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at Newell funeral home with a requiem high mass in Annunciation Church at 9 and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
