Age, 75, passed away Sunday, November 13, 1983, at his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 3, 1907, in the Town of Center, WI, son of William and Mary (Witt) Riehl. He was a lifelong resident of the Black Creek area where he farmed until his retirement in 1970. He married Ethel Schroeder on June 20, 1934, in the Town of Center, WI. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; three daughters and sons-in-law; Beverly and Philip Ziegler, Appleton; Mary and Glen Vick, Appleton; Roxanne and Steven Rudolph, Menasha; six sons and four daughters-in-law; Mark Riehl, Black Creek; Ronald Riehl, Black Creek; Vernon and Alice Riehl, Black Creek; Donald and Lillian Riehl, Sun Valley, Nevada; Lee and Jean Riehl, Stephensville; and John and Diane Riehl, Black Creek; a sister, Mrs. Hilda Mueller, Seymour; two brothers; Richard and Murleen Riehl, Appleton, and Harold and Dorothy Riehl, Black Creek; 19 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 1983, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek, with the Rev. Jeffrey Suhr officiating. Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek, from 4 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 1983, and on Wednesday until the time of the service.
