Willie Fern Bell-Pettit passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at the age of 81 years in Stephenville, TX.

She was born February 8, 1940 in Jacksboro, TX to Aaron D. and Pauline Bell.

She graduated from Azle High School in 1958.

On April 4, 1969, she was united in marriage to James K. (Jack) Pettit in Comanche County, TX.

Willie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her family.

Prior to her marriage, she was employed at an insurance agency for 10 years in Azle, TX. From that time on, she was a homemaker who always put the Lord and family first.

She was a gifted singer and was a member of the Bell Sisters, a gospel trio that was comprised of her and her two sisters, Carolyn and Gloria. They sang at various venues in the Fort Worth area and she carried that love of singing gospel hymns her entire life.

She was a member of Pettit Baptist Church.

Willie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack Pettit; two sons, Jeff Pettit of Gustine, TX and Jason and wife Yvette of Aledo, TX; 6 grandchildren, Will Pettit and wife Kaitlyn of Abilene, TX, Weston Pettit of Tampa, FL, Brittany Pettit of Stephenville, TX, Blake Pettit of Hamilton, TX, and Clarissa and Claudia Corona of Aledo, TX; two sisters, Carolyn Stevens of Azle, TX and Gloria Wheeler of Weatherford, TX; two brothers, Dwayne Bell and wife Cindy of Naples, TX and Dwyatt Bell and wife Ginger of Sulphur Springs, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Aaron D. Bell and Pauline Spangler-Bell of Azle, TX.
