Eva M. Harmon, 90, a longtime resident of rural Altamont, Kansas, died at 11:20 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kansas. She had been in failing health.
She was born November 11, 1917, in rural Mulberry, Kansas, to Joseph and Nora Belle (Allen) Suschnick. As a young girl, she attended Lookout Grade School in Missouri, and upon returning to Mulberry, graduated from Mulberry High School.
For several years she worked as manager of Brinkman's Flower Shoppe in Pittsburg.
She and George E. Harmon were married February 21, 1942. Following marriage, they moved to Golden Willow Ranch in Missouri where they resided until 1953 at which time they moved to their rural home in Altamont.
She was a member of the Altamont United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Progress Chapter No. 49, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Joe Harmon and his wife, Cyndi Hutchinson, KS; one grandson, Kevin Wesley Harmon; one granddaughter, Krista Jo Harmon; and one sister, Lorena B. Janney Eureka, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harmon, on November 8, 1995; and one brother, Joseph Allen Suschnick.
Funeral services are scheduled for December 26, 2007, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont, Kansas. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kansas.
