James Stephen "Steve" Mannix, 64, of Dallas, TX, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Steve was born in Tyler, TX, on July 5, 1954, and was predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Mary Kathryn Mannix. He graduated from John Tyler High School in 1972 and then attended Tyler Junior College for two years before finishing his education at the University of North Texas, where he earned his BBA and MBA in accounting. Steve began his career as a CPA in the tax department of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. He later partnered in forming a private Dallas tax accounting firm, Carter Mannix & Company.

Steve was a loving father, husband, and grandfather who enjoyed yardwork, traveling, and reading in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Staci Lynn Mannix; son Joshua Stephen Mannix; daughter Lauren Mannix Wilder; son-in-law Jay Wilder; and grandson Ethan Wilder. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Dohse, and nephew John Absalom.
