Mr. Richard Masaaki Urasaki, age 85, of Hilo, Hawaii, died on August 26, 2019 in the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo, Hawaii. He was born in Hilo on May 7, 1934 and retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sergeant (MGySgt). He was also retired from the University of Hawaii at Hilo Auxiliary Services Department. Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo on October 5, 2019 (Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Casual attire is requested. He is survived by wife, Kimiko Urasaki of Okinawa; sons, Rev. Alan (Cheryl) Urasaki of Pearl City, Tracy (Kenlyn) Urasaki of Kahaluu and Masato (Kaori) Urasaki of Okinawa; brother, Herbert Urasaki of Los Angeles, California; eight grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
