She was born February 20, 1916 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of William Charles Robinson and Henrietta Snead Nye Robinson Anderson.
June, a longtime member of Lyndhurst United Methodist Church, loved music and directed and sang in the choir there for many years. She also sang in the Sweet Adeline women's group for many years.
She was one of the original employees of Newberry's Department Store. She and her husband retired to Sebring, Florida for 25 years before returning in 2000. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Crawford "Mac" McDorman; son Darl Kenneth McDorman; brother James O. Robinson; sister Gladys J. Robinson; and step-father Dr. Darl C. Anderson.
Surviving are her sons: Joseph C. McDorman and wife Lois of Florida, Bill A. McDorman and wife Judy of Waynesboro; Dennis G. McDorman and wife Judy of Texas; daughter: Wenda M. Henderson and husband Chesley of Staunton; 13 grandchildren: Joe C. II, Darren, Mike, Darl Jason, Darl William, Scott Darl, and Casey McDorman, Desiree Loudermilk, Ronda Black, Cindy Herron, Tracy Wooddy, C. Kenneth and Dale Henderson; 35 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church by Rev. Michael W. Pettry, assisted by Rev. Jeffrey C. Schroeder. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at McDow Funeral Home.
