Loyd William Womack, Jr, passed away December 18, 2021. He was born on January 4, 1943 in Crossville, Illinois to Loyd W. Womack, Sr and Helen Marie Womack.

Loyd is preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Michelle Womack and his sister Judith Delcambre.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara, his sons Clinton Womack of Cherry Log, Georgia and Patrick Womack of Amarillo, Texas, step daughters Debi Wong of Dripping Springs, Texas, Danette Williams of Greasy Valley, Arkansas and Deanna Ross of Riesel, Texas, step sons Darren Ross of Georgetown, Texas and Darryl Ross of Briar Cliff, Texas, his brother Gregory Womack of Seabrook, Texas, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Loyd's younger life was spent all over the United States, as his father's work in the oil field took the family to many different areas. His teenage years were divided between Texas and Louisiana and in his late teens he began working in the oil field himself. He became a crane operator.

His favorite job as a crane operator was building antennas for Nation Science Foundation in Texas, New Mexico, California, Arizona, Washington State, New York, New Hampshire and Hawaii. He also worked on the largest antenna in the world, located in Puerto Rico. Loyd retired in 2006.

Loyd was a true cowboy, loved the outdoors and fishing and hunting were his passion, along with arrow head hunting. He was a self-made artist, doing beautiful work with metal. If something caught his eye, he could make it. Every piece of junk he saw, he saw the beauty and an idea in it. Our yard is full of his unfinished ideas.

He fought a good fight. Most would say he lost the battle due to cancer. He lost nothing. He won his reward against all odds. His reward was Heaven.

Visitation will be Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11:00 am prior to the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Spicewood Baptist Church. Burial will be at Fall Creek Cemetery, Spicewood, Texas.
