Mrs. Azilee Gibson Ashe, age 96, formerly of 3837 Jonesville Lockhart Hwy., Union, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Heartland of Union.
Mrs. Ashe was born March 21, 1925, in Union, a daughter of the late Roy Gibson and Elizabeth Gregory Gibson. She was a member of Lockhart Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ashe was a strong lady and was a Gold Star Mother of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Yon of West Columbia, Carolyn Howard of Lockhart, and Karen Ashe of Inman; a sister, Doris Lyman of Sharon; a brother Marvin Gibson of Hickory Grove; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Frankie Barbee; a daughter, Donna Sue Hancock; a grandson, Eddie Yon; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Don Turner. Burial will follow at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Shawn Lee, Jay Yon, Wally Sox, Frank Howard, Roger Horton, and Kevin Hancock.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, 1175 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353.
