James was buried beneath the old boat timber flooring of the early Presbyterian church. His name was included on memorial inscription cut in stone and attached to the church wall. "JAMES WADE who died on the 7th day of October, A.D. 1793." In the Wade family Bible, however, his information was recorded as "James Wade was Born the 30 Day September1799. James Wade Died the 7 Day of October 1799."
