He was born in Prairie City, Oregon, on August 22, 1950, to Darrell and Wavalee Faircloth. He loved to play horseshoes, poker, camping, hunting and fishing.
He went through school in Pendleton before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. He completed his GED with concentrated studies in agriculture while in the military and served three tours of duty in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 stars, RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Frame, Rifle Marksmanship Badge and Good Conduct Medal.
He drove truck and worked for the lumber mill at Blue Mountain Lumber Products in Reith until his retirement in April 2015.
Clayton is survived by his longtime partner LaDonna Jamison of Pendleton, his mother Wavalee Faircloth of Pendleton, his daughters Tamberlee Faircloth of Pendleton, and Sheila Faircloth, stepchildren Leilani Star of Pendleton, Ryder and Levi Heidenrich of Pendleton, sister Kay Cooper of Pendleton, grandchildren: Jonathon Faircloth of Pendleton, Sterling Faircloth of Union, OR, and Serenity Faircloth-Blivens of Pendleton, step-grandchildren: Colton, Victoria, Lillian, Phillip, Richard Jr. and Dylan Star of Pendleton, and Hunter of Milton-Freewater, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Darrell Faircloth.
