W. O. Bridwell Funeral Monday -- William Otis Bridwell, a resident of Tekamah since 1927, died at the Blair Hospital January 18 at the age of 93 years. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21, from the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Oliver Enersen officiating. Mrs. George Redmon sang "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Mrs. Helen Hume was at the piano. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery. William Otis Bridwell, the son of John and Euphenia Tannehill Bridwell, was born December 20, 1869, at Springville, Ind. He was married to Sallie Deaver October 10, 1894, at Bedford, Ind. they had ninechildren. Two sons, Roy and Ray, and his wife, Sallie, preceded him in death. At the age of 17 he was baptized into the Christian Church at Springvile, Ind., later transferring his membership into the Church of Christ at Loveland, Colo. Survivors include his children, Quincy of Omaha, Ralph of Clearbrook, Minn., Homer of Omaha, Lois Eckley of Tekamah, Hazel Douglass of Harrisonville, Mo., Meloy Bridwell of Lincoln and Harlan Bridwell of Bakersfield, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Bridwell was known for his kindness and was always ready to lend a helping hand. During his stay of four years at the Crowell Home in Blair he received much joy in being able to help other residents of the home.
