Mr. D. M. Clower Died Saturday
Mr. Daniel M. Clower, one of Gwinnett's aged and highly respected citizens, died Saturday night at his home at Snellville after a long illness.
He was ninety years of age and was a Confederate soldier, serving in the Forty-second Georgia Regiment, Company B.
Mr. Clower was a former county commissioner and civic leader of Gwinnett
county. He had many friends in Lawrenceville, where he often visited his son, Mr. G. W. Clower.
Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. F. M. Moore, of Gayson, and Mrs. L.C. Davis, of College Park; one son, Mr. G. W. Clower, of Lawrenceville; five sisters, Miss Caroline Clower, of Grayson; Mrs. L. O. Olds, of Pitts; Mrs. Sara Jane Davis, of Monroe; Mrs. Shady Campbell, of Lithonia, and Mrs. Selma Humphries, of Scottsdale.
The funeral and interment were held Tuesday afternoon from Zoar church, with the Rev. H. L. Edmondson conducting the services.
Those who attended the funeral and burial of Mr. Daniel M. Clower Tuesday afternoon at Zoar church, near Centerville, were Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Campbell, Mrs. C. U. Born, Mrs. Lulu B. Brown, Messrs. W. F. Pentecost and Edward Craig.
Daniel Morgan Clower was born 9 August 1846 in Gwinnett Co., GA to John Wesley Clower and Sarah Melvina (Martin) Clower. He married Sarah Jane Williams on 3
December 1868 in Gwinnett Co., GA.
