Funeral services for Marcel Henry Bloch, 90, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Northminster Church at 2701 Lamy Lane, Monroe, Louisiana under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home-Monroe. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. prior to service at Northminster Church. Dr. C. Weldon Gaddy will officiate. Interment will be at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach, LA.

Marc was born on September 15, 1931, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, and passed away on December 16, 2021, in Monroe, La. He was the only child of Leo and Bessie Ayraud Bloch.

Marc was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After his discharge from the Air Force, Marc was a musician in New Orleans and Monroe. He graduated from the University of Louisiana, Monroe. He was a decorator in Monroe, LA, Houston, TX, and New York City, NY. Along with his partner and companion of fifty-two years, James R. "Buddy" Henry, Marc founded and operated The Hook and Needle in Westport, Connecticut, which was considered the largest needle-art center in the world, until 2004, at which time Marc and Buddy retired in Monroe, LA.

Survivors are his cousins, Perry and Marla Hyman; their children, Adam Hyman (Alex Moreau) and Jodi Hutto (Ross); cousins, Marcel Lashover and his sister, Lee Lashover; step-sister, Patty Needham Sandlin (Richard) and their children Jennifer and Cindy Sandlin; cousins, Suzanne Despres (Alex), Lenore Saltz Gao (Martin) and Joseph Saltz; friends, Todd and Annyece Girtman, Lamar Mullican, Rodney, and Paula Thomas.

Marc was preceded in death by his father, Leo Bloch; mother, Bessie Ayraud Still; brother, Bruce Bloch; step-mother, Lottie Bloch and cousin, Ellen Hyman Saltz.

Pallbearers will be Steve North, Ken McKenzie, Page Atkins, Alan Girtman, Andy Girtman, and John McIntyre.
