She was born in Alma, GA to the late Marvin J. Jordan and Ellie Mae Carter Jordan. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper in Gainesville, FL for many years. Aunt Jeri was also an active member of Deenwood and lovingly known as cake maker extraordinaire for all church functions, birthdays and her favorite, just because I wanted to bake you a cake. Jerlene, her mother & sisters enjoyed traveling; they always had fun rather it be on a bus, a car, a plane or on a cruise. They proved to be the life of the party more than once and shared their smiles with everyone, even dressing alike at times. Never having children of her own, she has countless adoring nieces & nephews, great nieces & great nephews she doted on, spoiled and had the ability to make each one of them feel as if they were the most special.
In addition to her parents, Aunt Jeri was preceded in death by two brothers, Doris Jordan and Willis Joe Jordan; a sister Joyce Crawford; and two nieces, Darnell Jordan and Donna Wheeler.
Survivors include her sister, Darcile Smith of Blackshear; several nieces and nephews, Bruce Crawford (Donna) of Waycross, Gary Crawford (Kathy) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Tim Crawford of Waycross, Kim Crawford Blount of Fernandina Beach, FL, Glover Smith (Barbara) of Blackshear, Barbara Fischer (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL, Cheryl Thornton of Blackshear, Pam Wilson (William) of Blackshear, Brenda Jordan Deroche (Ted) of Waycross, Diane Turner (Randy) of Alma, Teresa Harbin (Malcolm) of Atlanta, Kristi Hand of Alma, and Lisa Nobles (Tim) of Alma; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (December 19, 2021) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at Corinth Cemetery in Alma. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
The great nephews will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
