Janice Lee (Adams) West, of Burlington, N.C., formerly of Freeport, went to be with the LORD Friday, Dec. 10, 2021. Janice was born April 14, 1943, in Natrona Heights. She was the eldest child of the late Lewis and Marion (Lloyd) Adams. She made her home for the past few years in Burlington, N.C., with her son, Michael West. Janice fought a long and difficult battle with ALS, but she always kept her strong faith and a very positive attitude. She was a loyal member of Center United Methodist Church, serving in many and various ways. She was a former president of the United Methodist Women and secretary/treasurer at various other local churches. She was an active member of the Methodist United Together Team. Jan enjoyed singing and listening to hymns of faith and praise. She was always trying to encourage others and fervently vowed to pray for them. She graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1961 and was employed for 20 years as an executive secretary with PPG, Harmarville and Allison Park. She retired in 2001. Jan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Vacationing yearly with her husband, Bud, at Virginia Beach, Va., was one of her favorite times. She also loved gardening, sewing and decorating. Besides her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Francis J. (Bud) West, who passed away Oct. 10, 2016. She is survived by her sons, Michael West, of North Carolina, and Dr. Jeff (Maryla) West, of Delaware; and her grandchildren, Ema and Jens West.
