From "The Home Tribune," Parma, Missouri, 2 March 1945, page 1: Ella Tucker Howell was born November 14, 1872 in Harrisburg, Illinois and departed this life on February 24, at home in Parma, Missouri at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 12 days. She professed faith in Christ early in life and lives a devoted Christian life to the end. She was loved by all those who knew her. She was united in marriage to Wm. B. Tucker in 1892. To this union 6 children were born, 2 of which preceded her in death in early infancy, surviving are Mrs. Ethel Swain of New Madrid, Missouri, Mrs. Lina Borsay of Flint, Michigan, Mrs. Myrtle Howell of Wichita., Kansas, and Jess R. Tucker of Parma. Mr. Tucker preceded her in death on March 22, 1915. Mrs. Tucker was then united in marriage to Gus Howell, January 20, 1924, which were no children born of this union. She leaves to mourn her departure, 2 sisters and 3 brothers all of Harrisburg, Illinois, and 5 step-children, 9 grand children, 14 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

From "The Daily Register Newspaper," Harrisburg, Illinois, 26th of February 1945, page 6: Mrs. Ella Howell, 75, wife of Gus Howell, Parma, Missouri, formerly of Harrisburg, died Saturday and her funeral was held today at Parma. She will be remembered in Harrisburg as Ella Tucker, wife of the late William Tucker and is the step-mother who raised Joe Tucker of this city. She was the sister of Mrs. Alice Dunn, Marion, Peter Gibbs, Harrisburg, Rebecca Gibbs, Herod, and Columbus Gibbs of Golconda.
