Marlon Ralph Wheat passed from this world on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 85. He was born October 31, 1928 in Weakley County, Tennessee to Walter Lee and Hattie (Stephenson) Wheat. He was the 9th of 12 children.

Marlon married Loujinia Ruth Capps, "the prettiest girl," on March 10, 1949. He was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, serving as an Elder of the Holmes Road Church. Marlon served his country during the Korean War. He also worked at Fisher Body and retired to Bradenton, Florida.

Surviving to cherish Marlon's memory are his wife of 65 years, Loujinia Ruth; son; chosen daughter and granddaughters; grandson, and great-grandson; brothers, Max and Bobby; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. A private family service will be held.
