Richard M. Schlegel, 55, Native of Coplay

Richard M. Schlegel, 55, of 283 Rockwood Drive, Painesville, Ohio, died Thursday in Lake County Memorial Hospital in Ohio. He was stricken with a heart attack.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of Mrs. Alverta (Bartholomew) Schlegel of Painesville and the late Harvey S. Schlegel.

A certified public accountant and an audit examiner for the Ohio Auditor's Office, he had lived in Painesville since 1959. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ of Mickleys.

Surviving besides his mother, are his widow, Evelyn V. (Williams) Schlegel; a daughter, Annette, wife of Charles Berke of Fullerton; two brothers, Edward. of Santa Ana, Calif., and Albert of Painesville; a sister, Miriam, wife of Jack Clark of Anaheim, Calif.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Saylor Funeral Home, 1064 5th St., Catasauqua. Calling hours will be 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.
