Died Peter Huffman an old citizen
of Pope Co and as greatly
respected as widely known.
Died at his home four miles east
of Russellville lastr Sunday and
was buried Monday at
Pisgah Cemetary.
Peter Huffman he was born 10th of
Mar 1808 in Lincoln Co NC. In 1851
removed to Pope Co AR and settled
about three miles east of
Russellville, where he remained
until a short time before his death.
The last few months of his life he
lived with Mr. Twiggs Brown, where
he was visited by his children, and
where everything that loving care
could suggest was done for his
comfort. On February 27th 1886 he
was taken with something like
paralysis and the following day
he passed away.
Mr. Huffman was a member of the
Lutheran church in NC and there
being no church of his faith here,
being strong in hsi conviction,
he united with no other. On March 1
he was carried by loving hands to
his last resting place beside his
wife who had preceeded him by
about 10 years.
