Tony L. Rouhotas Sr. of Brawley, CA was born in Loma Linda, CA on August 30, 1955. After his father graduated from college the family moved back to Imperial Valley where they resided outside of Holtville until Tony was 9. The family then moved to Brawley, CA and Tony resided there until his death.
Tony attended schools in Brawley throughout his early years and attended high school at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, CA. It was in 1973 when he joined the Imperial County Sheriffs Department Reserve Program, while also working for his fathers company Marvin Seed and as an EMT for Chalfont Ambulance company. In 1974 Tony married Shelly and they raised their two boys and continued to make their home in Brawley, CA.
Tony would continue to succeed and have many accomplishments throughout his life. He was appointed to the Commander of the Imperial County Sheriff's Office Reserve Unit and would also go on to lead the Imperial County Sheriffs Underwater Search and Recovery Team. In 1990 Tony established the Sheriffs Boating & Enforcement Unit which he loved very much. He was also an instrumental member of the Imperial County Environmental Crimes Task Force where he proudly served with his colleagues. Tony earned many accolades and accomplishments at the local, state, and federal levels over the years and would always make himself available to do more when called upon.
Tony was preceded in his death by his Mother Joan, Brother Mike, Nephew Josh, and Service Dog Sugar. He is survived by his wife Shelly of 47 years, Sons, Tony Jr (Valeri), Jason (Lisa); his Father Marvin and Wife Edee, Brothers Marvin (Kim), Steve, Grandchildren Tony III (Einez), James, Issac (Kate), Javier (Crystal), Joe (Arlene), Mikayla (Fabian) and numerous nephews, nieces, great-grandchildren and friends that he loved immensely.
Services will be held at Riverview Cemetery on December 18th at 10:00 am.
